AFTER  SUMMER

Photobucket

THE AUTUMN LEAVES ARE DRIFTING DOWN
LAYING A BRIGHT CARPET ON THE GROUND
RED AND ORANGE,YELLOW AND GREEN
THE PRETTIEST CARPET YOU'VE EVER SEEN

IF THEY DON'T FALL EXACTLY RIGHT
THE WIND WILL RE-ARRAINGE THEM WITH ALL ITS MIGHT
WHEN MOST THE TREES ARE ALL UNDRESSED
THAT'S WHEN THE KIDS LOVE AUTUMN BEST

THE PILES OF LEAVES MAKE THE SQUIRRLES HAPPY TOO
THEY LIKE TO DIVE INTO THEM, JUST LIKE YOU
OF COURSE--AT THE END OF THE PERFECT DAY
THE SMELL OF BURNING LEAVES--DRIFT YOUR WAY

MOTHER NATURE IS BUSY- SHE HAS THINGS TO DO
MAKING HAPPY TIMES-- AFTER SUMMER--FOR YOU
THEN ALONG COMES WINTER- ALL DRESSED IN WHITE
TO END THE YEAR , WITH PURE DELIGHT
