AGING

SOME WHISPERS FROM A TIME GONE BY
ECHOS DRIFTING BETWEEN YOU AND I

HOW SWIFT THE YEARS WHEN WE ARE YOUNG,
NOT REALIZING WE HAD JUST BEGUN.

THE DAYS WERE LONG, WITH GOLDEN SUN
WHEN YOUTH WAS SPENT IN FRIVELOUS FUN.

FIRST L,OVE CAME BY AND NIPPED OUR HEART
THEN ANOTHER, AND ANOTHER TO RIP IT APART

WHEN WE GROW OLDER-WE FIND IT'S TRUE
THERE'S LESS TIME TO PLAY- AND MORE WORK TO DO.

IN TIME, THERE'S FAMILY FOR MOST OF YOU
AND A WHOLE NEW SET OF THINGS TO DO

WHEN FAMILIES ARE GROWN AND ON THEIR OWN
AND YOU LOOK BACK AND WAIT BY THE PHONE,

YOU WONDER HOW IT GOT TO BE THAT WAY
WHEN NO-ONE CALLS DAY AFTER DAY

IT'S ALMOST AS IF , THERE'S NO-ONE TO CARE
IF YOU'RE STILL HERE OR GONE ON TO THERE.
