CHECK IT OUT WITH MY GOD FIRST

If someone should acquire
A secret identity
To hurt and humiliate
Pretending to be me

Before you accept this lie...
Before you believe the worst...
Please do us both a favor...
Check it out with my God first.

If perhaps I don't agree
To what you're calling right.
Please let me disagree...
Don't involve me in the fight.

I try not to take a side...
Listen to each one concerned.
But may lay down my rule
To keep someone from getting burned.

I will warn you as a friend
To be watchful or beware
If I can sense a danger
To your integrity somewhere.

For I don't want you hurt
Or victim to anothers guile
But that's as far as I will go
Because gossip's not my style.

I am not above mistakes
And I don't pretend to be.
But if you're going to use my name
Be sure you're quoting me!

Some like to serve deceit,
Just to quench the devil's thirst.
But if a bottle's sent by me...
Check it out with my God first.

~~**AUTHOR'S NOTE**~~
This poem is dedicated to everyone
who has been the victim of a lying
tongue or false rumors...whose IP
numbers have been switched to cause
confusion in feedback entries and
whose sites have been broken into
or tampered with. Remember that God
sees all and He fights our battles.
He allows the ungodly just so much
rope...then they're hung by their
own tongues.

"A righteous man hates lying,
But a wicked man is loathsome
and comes to shame."
Proverbs 13:5

"The proud have forged a lie
against me
But I will keep your precepts
with my whole heart.'
Psalm 119:59
