has traveled this road....
We all have times in our life
we think about on many a day,
of relationships that have
come and gone along the way.
Once we were it seems
with each other inseparable,
but somehow we got lost
among the many hoards of people.
It's funny how at one time
we seemed to mean so much,
but they simply moved on
hardly ever keeping in touch.
One day you're in their life
then another no longer there,
maybe you really meant nothing at all
for them to vanish without a care.
They can take their love
but they can't take our mem'ry,
that is what we take and lock away
and only our heart holds the key.
If you opened up my heart
you'd find more love than hurt inside,
for it has been healed
by the memories that have never died!
