MY GRANDMA C.

SHE HAD A HARD LIFE ALWAYS,
BUT I REMEMBER HER WITH LOVE,
SHE WAS ALWAYS NICE TO OTHERS
A GRACE THAT CAME FROM ABOVE.

SHE ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL SO SPECIAL
WHEN SHE'D VISIT SHE'D BRING A SMALL GIFT,
LIKE SOX OR RIBBONS FOR MY HAIR
TO GIVE MY HEART A LIFT

IT WASN'T 'TIL I GOT OLDER
THAT I WONDERED HOW SHE GOT BY
SHE HAD ARTHRITUS AND SHE LIVED ALONE,
AFTER MY GRANDPA DIED.

THERE WAS JUST MY DAD AND UNCLE
WHO COULD HELP IN ANY WAY
I NEVER KNEW WHAT THEY DID TO HELP
HER GET BY FROM DAY TO DAY

IT WAS DURING THE BIG DEPRESSION
EVERYONE HAD IT HARD TO GET BY .
I KNOW SHE HAD FOOD IN THE HOUSE
SHE SHOWED IT TO MOM AND I.

I ALWAYS LOVED MY GRANDMA,
SHE WAS NICE IN SO MANY WAYS
I OFTEN WISH I HAD SEEN HER MORE,
BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY.
