PAY THE $49 A YEAR
Even though I don't win contests
I don't read my guest book hardly ever
I don't read my feedback I used to long for
I have out grown other's thoughts of me
As old Charles told me I would
I still pay my $49 a year to be ad free
And so should you
As poetry is not free
I paid for it with my life
All my long life
It takes experience to fill a void
It takes time and hurt
It takes your soul
It is worth every penny of
49 hundred of them
In a big pile on your bed
Counting counting counting
The poems like a child
Counting on his fingers
For the very first time.
