The Shadow of Death

This precious world still is all mine
As I look UP from the Earth
To a galaxy of stars that shine

God has granted me long years
For a very good reason
I still need to revel in the beauty
Of each new season.

I miss and cherish my loved ones
Now in Heaven above
Yes, I've promised them all my eternal love

Yet I choose NOT to get lost
In the Valley of the Shadow of Death
At least not until AFTER I take my last earthly breath.

When the time draws near I'll enter the dark tunnel
Free from fright
And I'll swiftly fly toward the beckoning bright light.

When I get to Heaven, there they will be
All of my dear ones
Anxiously waiting for me.

We will embrace
And we will cry
They'll understand when I tell them
Why I lingered until I was ready to die.

All of our tears will transform into laughter
And we'll rejoice with our GOD
Happily ever after.

In the meantime I will strive with all that I'm worth
To live and love in this Heaven
Right here on Earth.
