I don't even know where the time has gone
All I know my love for you has grown
Even if by circumstances time together is unknown
You were my first biological great grandbaby born
Although your cousin Cheyanne by marriage first come
You both were a gift from God and I love you each one
But it is you that begins a legacy in our heritage of a new generation
How awesome is that My Little One?!
My parents which were your great great grandparents have passed on
This love letter is to you for someday I too will be gone
My love and prayers goes on no matter the distance and seperation
Over your first year I've seen you in pictures only
I'm thankful for the internet enabling me to see
For distance and circumstance robs your hugs from me
However I pray the future gives me more opportunity
Some may think this love so deep cannot be
It's the same love that grew while my children I carried
There's no rhyme or reason for it's all a mystery
All I know is the love inside is genuine and real to me
My prayers for your future is nothing but the best
My dream is that someday you'll come to know Jesus
My vision for You and Your parents are everyone priceless
My concern is not being a part of your life I sadly confess
No matter what you'll always be my lil' princess
Even if distance or circumstances hinders us
I'll search online to catch a glimpse of you
Like I've done so often to see my other grandkids too
Your Nanny is sorry at times when given the opportunity
I was hindered for in my body is an infirmity
My heart and soul ached to see you at these times
But never doubt my love, for you were always on my mind
The picture of me holding you hangs in my room
I look at it daily hoping and praying I'll see you soon
I often fear I am wrongly judged for my enability
But if they could see inside my heart they'd see more clearly
This poem/love letter may even seem a bit deep
But in time little one you'll understand this love I vow to keep
For you are a part of my heart and soul and always will be
