Here's the tale of This Sally's Dues
i've paid them already how they ooze,
ooze thru me and drain me dry
leaving me no strength except to cry.
I used to be such a happy soul
but heaven above took back My Angel,
now if you will just imagine
that i go thru hell without My Heaven.
I'm bitter without end
not being entertained by My Best Friend,
so pick up the pieces....
of me all over the floor
and leave your mem'ries....
of what used to be at the door.
That's how it's going to be
i'll serve tea but with no honey,
you can't expect me to be a gracious host
without the guest i love the most.
So if you come here looking for a smile
you'll only be staying a little while,
for my sunshine went away
and tearful rain is here to stay.
You'll say to me here's your sign
it was nice while it lasted sunshine,
thanks for spreading it as long as you did
her's lookin at you like i remember kid!
