Thank-You Veterans and All Whose Served
To honor and to serve rememberance you so deserve
Leaving behind home,family, friends and your own bed
To fight for all of our freedoms at all cost instead
Yet more celebrities are honored than Heroes when dead
There's so many that never came back
From fighting for a country whose honor it lacks
The brave soldiers down through history
Went forth to protect our freedoms unselfishly
Especially when they come home all broken up
The very ones that sent them refused assistance
Eventually they may receive after another fight
Oh how I apologize for their ways is not right
I thank-you all... past,present and in the future
And I remember you even at my table for sure
On times with my family when you're missing yours
Losses of loved ones due to mental damage of the war
For after you get back and that is if you did
The horrors you replay in your mind to the world is hid
Through fellowpoets that are veterans I've gained insight
I thank-you for the importance of all knowing your plight
Let us not take for granted that freedom isn't free
For with each passing year you sacrifice yet we're losing
I feel with all my heart it is for the greatest sacrifice ever made
Is the America that once honored God demands Him to go away
There is nothing I'm sure that makes your sacrifices more hard
Than to lay down your life for our freedoms and on them men trod
I think that for most veterans and soldiers there's a special connection with Almighty God
That civilians may never know,feel,see and some ever give thought
To the selfless act of putting your own life on the line for another
For people in turn to spit,slap,accuse,slander,and turn their back on a brother
This is the experience and direct connection our soldiers with Christ share
For even offering their life for our life to be better there's those that don't care
May God bless you one and all for your unselfish sacrifice
I pray your reward will be great if not here in the afterlife
When Jesus will honor those that their acts were truly in love
For both America and other countries for their liberty you fought
Thank-you all, past, present and future on this day honor is given
My prayer is it will be in our hearts each and everyday we're living
The price that has been paid for freedom starting first with Jesus
And the hearts He put in brave soldiers...
For all gave some and some gave all... for us
HAPPY VETERANS DAY and MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA!
