Life Story # 8

Life Story #8
She  might have been a dancer or a movie star
He might have played baseball or driven a race car
Maybe a famous lawyer or a great president
How about that brilliant doctor that seemed truly heaven sent
The sky would be the limit, nothing impossible
Every opportunity a possibility, every goal attainable
There might have been some struggles, some set backs here and there
But that is nothing new, there are problems everywhere
She might have been so beautiful, glowing from the inside
He might have been so handsome, strong and stout, daddy's pride
She might have been a wonderful mother, so loving and so kind
Nurturing and caring, the best you could ever find
He might be found outside playing catch with his son
Or leaping from the stands when he hit is first home run
There may be some mistakes made, just opportunities to grow
Maybe fall a few times, you really never know
Life is unpredictable, it can surprise us all
But when those times arrive we get to make the call
This was not the case for either of them, they didn't have a say
Neither had a choice of life, it was taken away
There was no success  or failure they didn't get the chance
He will never play ball, and she will never dance
A decision was made on their behalf, to cover  another bad choice
Their life stories won't be heard, they never had a voice
So as life presents it's lessons as it often does
What lessons can we learn from the life the never  was
