The GIFT Of Christmas Memories

The GIFT Of Christmas Memories

I wish I could go shopping
Just one more time with you...
Walk through the decorated mall
The way we used to do.

Pick presents for the children...
This for yours and that for mine.
Since both of us were givers,
We'd spend to our last dime.

Toys for all the little ones...
Something for the neighbors, too.
You had such a heart for Christmas...
The Christmas Spirit lived in you.

Hand in hand through all the stores
As Christmas carols played...
It was such a sweet together time
When memories were made.

We'd stop to snack on cinnabons
And mugs of hot cocoa...
Gazing deep into each others' eyes...
We loved each other so.

It's a season based on Godly love...
On His gift to all mankind.
I could feel your gift of love for me
And I know that you felt mine.

Now all I have are mem-o-ries
Of the wonder of those days...
But these, too, are a gift from God
And I have to give Him praise.

For although a part of me will weep
And the rest of me will grieve,
Your love is still the greatest gift
I ever could receive.

So, though I walk the mall alone...
We're not that far apart.
For Christmas is and will forever be
A condition of the heart.

Have a Heavenly Christmas,
