Eyes on the Prize

Glancing back I see the past sins and yes I admit it
That was me I was guilty I confess yes I did it
I cheated I, lied, I stole and tried to hide
I was boastful , I was hurtful and full of pride
But Jesus says I'm forgiven He as set me free
Now sin and death has no power over me
So with joy in my heart and tears in my eyes
I'm focused on Savoir with my eyes on the prize
Yea I see the temptation trying turn my eyes away
Made up and half dressed asking if I want to play
A little shake of the hips little glimpse of the breast
The fragrance of seduction and the lure of the flesh
But my body is Gods temple, He lives inside
Everywhere I go He is along for the ride
God is holy and He lives in me
And since He is holy then holy I must be
So with joy in my heart and tears in my eyes
I'm focused on my Savoir with my eyes on the prize
As I run away from temptation I collide with a trial
I'm broken and haven't had a job in a while
Doing the right thing seems to be so tough
While the people doing wrong has all kinds of stuff
The bible says there will come a day
When the treasures of this earth will burn away
So the grass He dresses and the birds He feeds
Reminds me that He will also supply all my needs
So with joy in my heart and tears in my eyes
I'm focused on my Savoir with my eyes on the prize
If I turn to the left or turn to the right
I take a chance of losing the Prize in sight
One side has destruction, sin and death
The other has depression, guilt and shame
God commands not to turn to the right or left
But stay the course, meditate on and speak His name
I am more that a conquer this much I know
Because the bible tells me so
So with joy in my heart and tears in my eyes
I'm focused on my Savoir with my eyes on the prize
