Movin On Up to the best side
where troubles of earth no longer applied,
where a piece of the pie
is always found in the sweet by and by.
He's enjoying my piece of the pie now
and to his bounty he takes a bow,
he listens to praise for me
As My Angel Welcomes Sherman Hemsley.
I constantly dream of the day
i move on up that way,
if it don't happen soon i'll climb that hill on my own
cause from this world this bird has tired and flown.
It is an endless shower of teardrops not rain
that washes over me with pain,
i hold my hand out for peace
so from my drowning i will have sweet release!
