`Kenny Rogers` My Favorite Country Western Artist of Classic Country Music!

`*~ GAMBLER'S DESPAIR~*`

On a deep dark and windy stormy night
Void from all elements of the brightest light
He rode in tired from a long cattle run
Stopped in town for a bit of mean whiskey fun

Life booming as he sat at the casino bar
Enjoying rest after coming so far
A lonely maiden eying his dusty apparel
Offering to him her bathing barrel

In her room he left forgetting his stetson hat
Down in the barroom she sat upon his lap
As he held his gambling cards to holding stand
She secretly stole his winning hand

The horse that had brought him into town
Now became her final winning crown
Sadly banished from his gambling despair
A stetson was all he had left to wear

Today he sings of a mighty Gambler's song
What he dreamed of doing all along
New fame and fortune now is his to behold
Knowing when to hold and when to fold!
