Kevin Costner and Message In A Bottle

The movie Message In A Bottle
Is a memory in itself
Whenever the mood strikes me
I retrieve it from the shelf

I watch as each subduing scene
Walks me back into time
Taking me to moments
I keep bottled in my mind

Since Costner was close family
We collected all his works.
Ish was so proud of his cousin…
Kevin was one of his perks.

I recall a dark theatre
Where we’re sitting hand in hand.
We were such romantics…
Touch was always in demand.

Of course, the tragic ending
Made us hold on all the more.
And every time I watch this scene
The teardrops really pour.

But life’s made up of memories…
Some are happy…some are sad.
And I thank God for every one
That I have ever had.

The Bible says God bottles tears…
What a message they must hold!
Kevin Costner made a movie
And, thus, this memory can unfold.

Dedicated to Janet of Roswell
who loves Kevin

Psalm 56:8-11
You Yourself have recorded my wanderings.
Put my tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in Your records?
Then my enemies will retreat on the day when I call.
This I know: God is for
me.
