His deep voice broke as he wiped his tears

His calloused hands did tremble…

Her cold heart thawed as she ate his fears.

And he wandered back through many years…

Spent memories deleting.

Past ruminations crystal clear. . .

Nostalgic paths he rambled.

His worries fell on willing ears…

She held him close entangled.

His voice broke as he wiped at his tears,

She lingered close as he persevered.

Her thin white lips now trembled…

Her cold heart thawed as she ate his fears.

He felt Death‘s cold embrace draw near...

Her pale cool hand entreating.

His voice broke and he wiped his tears
