ON HIS CRUCIFIXION ( His Light Shines Forever)

 This poem i lovingly dedicate to a good friend,
Doris Covington
whose endearing love for the Lord
is greatly overwhelming.

ON HIS CRUCIFIXION ( His Light Shines Forever)

"Because of His anguish he shall see the light;
because of His knowledge he shall be content;
My servant, the just one, shall justify the many,
their iniquity He shall bear."
-Isaiah 53:11

"All things were made through Him and without Him nothing came to be, Whatever has come to be, found life in Him, life which for man was also light. Light that shines in the dark: light that darkness could not overcome."
-John 1:3-5

Whose mournful cries
seems unheard,
Fading slowly
In the harsh winds of Mt. Calvary?

Whose strong words
seems unbend
Lashing mercilessly
In the bitter ends of mockery?

Trees were still
Even tears held back in silence
Skies were dimmed and saddened
His hour has come …

"Like a lamb . . . or a sheep before the shearer,
He didn't open His mouth..."
Blood dripping from his flesh
and wounds oozing with so much pain

Not even the rocks and stones could bear
and could have cried, "enough"
Till he succumbed to death
for not His will but the Father's

"Who gave Him His portion among the great..."
"that at the Name of Jesus, all knees should bend..."
Darkness is over,
His light shines forever!
