HELLER FAMILY HISTORY VOLUME III
FORWARD
When Ike Heller asked me to write Volume III, I suggested that we discuss his career as founder and chairman of Heller Industrial Parks. However, even before I began to write this story, we realized that we had to do more than quote facts and figures.
Ike’s main purpose is to update the previous volumes and to introduce his brother-in-law Charles Hirsh to The Heller Family History, Volume III, because Charlie, who is Helaine Heller’s brother, plays an important part in the family history. We have also included chapters about Ike and Helaine’s delightful and devoted maid, Hattie Palmer, and Ike’s nurse, Hilda McNichol, who are significant members of the Heller family.
In addition, I decided that I cannot write another word about Ike Heller unless I dedicate this book to him and include chapters about some of the countless people, communities and organizations he has helped. I also need to include Ike’s employees, whose business lives are dedicated to the amazing success of Heller Industrial Parks and I. Heller Construction Company.
This book seems like a conglomeration of many things, which it has to be. The Heller Family History Volume III is a testimony to one of the most remarkable people I have ever been privileged to know.
