Lord, Give Me A Mountain

We often whine and whimper
When faced with trials and tests.
We often fail to understand
Why God allows such stress.

  Turmoil and tribulations!
Suffering seems out of line!
But we are only seen as strong
As the mountains we can climb!

Character can’t be developed
Through days of ease and quiet.
Sometimes it takes a battle!
Sometimes it takes a riot!

Crisis will create a challenge!
What if we were never tried?
We couldn’t have a testimony
If a test was not applied!

Then will the soul be strengthened!
Then will the vision clear!
Then will ambition be inspired
And achieved success appear!

Life will hand us many heartaches…
The devil is alive and well!
Some don’t take him serious
But he’s as serious as hell!

If we operate in openness
And are honest in our quest
If we pursue the mind of Christ
God will handle all the rest.

Can we say “Give me a mountain?”
And be assured we won’t be stopped?
If we are fueled by faith in God…
We’re more than sure to reach the top!!!

Then a mountaintop experience
Will be our just reward…
As we'll be basking in the glory
And the beauty of the Lord!!!

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
Only through experiences of trial and suffering
can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition
inspired and success achieved. ~ Helen Keller

Listening for God's voice and following His
instructions are the first steps towards holiness….
Exodus 24:12
"GOD said to Moses, "Climb higher up the
mountain and wait there for me; I'll give you
tablets of stone, the teachings and commandments
that I've written to instruct them." –

Our view of God will change with our perspectives…
the closer we climb the more personal He becomes.
Exodus 24:16-17
"The Glory of GOD settled over Mount Sinai.
The Cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh
day He called out of the Cloud to Moses. In the view
of the Israelites below, the Glory of God looked like
a raging fire at the top of the mountain
." –

Setting time aside to be with God and to experience
the mountaintop provides us with strength, wisdom,
and understanding for our tasks in life.
Exodus 24:18
Moses entered the middle of the Cloud and climbed
the mountain. Moses was on the mountain forty days
 and forty nights."
