MY CHRISTMAS FLIGHT
I wrote this poem last December, 2012.
For so many reasons, i wasn't able to finish it not until
i got inspired to finish it this year.
To Janie,
the Angelicheavenlystar of PP,
and a dear friend,
i lovingly dedicate this poem
I can't fly out tonight
My wings are tight
But thanks to these frosted little twigs I can perch on, letting me rest while in the cold
In bleak, gray blanket surrounding me, unfolds
I can feel a little warmth at the break of day
I can stretch my wings and soar my way
up into the high majestic sky
I sway through the clouds and swoop and play…oh, my!
From above, rooftops and chimneys, railroads and bridges all covered in white
Cold escalates in the air and everything's bright.
People moving to and fro, dressed in feathers like mine
Taking a sip from something's hot and exchanged "hello's" from time to time
Little boys and girls receiving boxes from a big man in red coat
"Ho! Ho! Ho!", his jolly greeting−afloats
I see a grand stature with bells ringing,
Wow, I delight in smooth sounds orchestrating
Ah, I can't put in words how I feel
But I know deep inside, there's something beautiful and real
Maybe this what they call, "Christmas"
I may not know it much but it's a wondrous moment…meant to last.
This is snowbird wishing you the very best of this cold season.
