End Times State of Mind
Some people tend to worry, some tend to fear
We note to worlds condition and say the end is near
The bible is full of prophecy, all of which are true
Many already fulfilled, and many are still due
Books have been written, many thoughts expressed
Every prophecy scrutinized, and put to the test
I am no authority, I'm not an educated man
So in my simplicity I devised my own plan
Study the bible that I may be approved
Pray and seek council before every move
An end time's state of mind is the approach for me
Knowing my end time is when I no longer breathe
When I close my eyes on earth for the last time
That's the day the book is closed on this life of mine
No one knows, not even the Son, the hour the father as set
I don't want that hour to catch me doing something I'll regret
But when I open my eyes again before that great white throne
I want my end to be the beginning eternal in my new home
The signs of the times are on display in neon lights
Everything in the world is wrong and only God is right
The scripture tells us not to marvel when we see these things
Only be ready and prepared to meet the King of kings
Have your lamp trimmed and burning, your light on display
You never know if your end time will be this very day
If you say you believe in Jesus, and your belief is true
Then you must take the time you have for the work assigned to you
Take no thought for tomorrow, a day you may never see
Today is the day to be what God called you to be
The salt of the earth, a city on a hill
Don't complain at the task of doing His will
Don't be the worlds judge, that's not your place
You are only enlightened because of His grace
Shake a few more hands, wash a few more feet
Keep breaking bread until everyone eats
Give and it shall be given, shaken and pressed
Fast and pray often until all have been blessed
No need to worry, no need to fear
Be glad and rejoice that the end is near
If the Lord tarry, or comes right away
I will heed the command to watch and pray
