Sea Walker

Sea Walker

I heard the word, a storm was near
By the time I looked up it was already here
The battered and beaten ship seemed the safest bet
The highest of tides had not begun yet
Where did it come from? So hard, so fast
I try to seek shelter and let it pass
When out in the distance there appears to be
A man or a ghost walking on the sea
Something inside me said look again
Piercing through the darkness, an intense stare
And a trembling voice crying out, who's there
Looks like the Son of man, but can I be sure
The sea of life has me sin sick and He's the cure
Out of desperation I cry out, Lord bid me come
At His response my new life begun
My training as a sea walker tried and true
I had a lot of falling and rising to do
Each time with a new testimony to share
Leaving tracks on the water is a trick so rare
From the first time Jesus called me onto the waves
I began learning more and more not to look away
When the rain fell harder; eyes on Jesus
The shore seems father; eyes on Jesus
When the waves grew higher; eyes on Jesus
The sky lights like fire; eyes on Jesus
No matter what the circumstances seem to be
I keep my eyes on Him because His eyes are on me
Even when the sea calms and the waters are still
I keep my eyes on Jesus ever seeking His will
A lesson from Peter in Matthew 14: 30
Walk by faith not stress or worry
Don't focus on the tempest or raging sea
But focus on the Sea walker living in me
My steps are now ordered by the Lord himself
He is my rock, my fortress, my very present help
I walk on the raging sea of chaos and doubt
I will speak to the storm and walk right out
More than a conqueror, child of the most high
Knee deep in the water while touching the sky
Peace, be still, I command by faith
By His name the wind and the sea obey
