Uncomfortable Faith

Uncomfortable Faith

In the book of James chapter 2 it is read
Faith without works is faith that is dead
Meaning faith cannot merely sit at home
Warm and cozy in its comfort zone
Faith must be tested and tried
To project the glory of God dwelling inside
It's not about how safe we feel
But weather we believe God's power is real
Called for a purpose and equipped for the task
Out of your comfort zone you are free at last
Noah built the ark believing God knew best
Abraham was not comforted by God's strange request
Moses found the wilderness uncomfortable I'm sure
Joseph suffered discomfort so his family could endure
King David, although anointed evaded the comfort zone
And Jesus left the ultimate comfort for this earth to roam
No one from a lazy Boy attached to a remote control
Surfing the internet with the broken city down below
Could ever make an impact on the world for Christ
In fact He has said it more than twice
Go ye therefore, the key word is go
The highways and byways won't be comfortable
But if we are to grow and mature
Of this one thing we can be sure
An uncomfortable faith will be at hand
So face that fact and take a stand
The harvest is truly plentiful, the workers are few
Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send workers like you
The days may be long and toilsome, the pay may be low
The ride may not be comfortable but still we must go
Hills will be hard to climb, obstacles good and plenty
Test will come often, and trials will be many
“I have overcome the world” I heard our Savior say
And we have empowered to overcome the same way
Families saved, marriages totally restore
Health, prosperity, and so much more
But we will have to step out like the 3 Hebrew boys
Into the fiery furnace full of hope and joy
The fire will get a little hot at times without a doubt
The uncomfortable faith draws God's promises out
Do you believe His word? Where is the evidence?
You walked down to the alter, but where have you gone since
It is often in the most uncomfortable positions that hold the best view
Like the uncomfortable position you were in to see God's love for you
