From, wheel-chair, to walker, to limping, to-walking, and soon, to-run
the race, of my life, and FITNESS, has positively, momentumily, BEGUN
Just now, an-hour and twenty, minutes i did my longest WALK
So here i am, on my poetry, site, to write a little, poem, and TALK
So, my-momentum-, is building up, and im getting, stronger, and stronger
as my walks are getting, faster, and longer
Still, a long way to go
before, a run, i can, go and show
But ill just keep moving along
i will run again before too long
From wheel-chair in a nursing home, on-22-august-2014--when i injured both kees and ankles, and was complicated, with osteo artheritis and severe gout pain
so actually admit date to nursing home as 08-august, and discharge home, on 22-august, the same
Then had the use of a walker
for, most of september
Then from, limping, to swimming, to step by step, yard by yard slow but sure walking
to a good brisk walk this early morn, i dont feel, like a peasant no more, feel more as a king
So my momentum, is firmly now in place
my life and fitness, is picking up the steady pace, and my dream one day is to finish in a triathlon, meet and race
From, wheel chair, to walker, to limping, to walking, and soon to run
my life, fitness is getting started and has just begun
Never count yourself out
when your in a wheel chair, or using a walker, dont be sad and pout
Before i could barely stand up on my OWN
i felt so worthless and ALONE
I could barely pivot and TURN
the pain in my joints would severely ache and BURN
No matter what is your health at this moment in TIME
Breathe--relax---pause---and--PRAY--find your strength, today, make up your mind, to--Get your life and fitness back, on track, and-SHINE
