I'm That Way NowSometimes each day is so much like the day before With no new challenge or goals for us to meet We're to weak and discouraged to go thru the open door We feel like sleeping the day away and not raise our feet. I'm that way now I have been for days When I look up, only dark clouds I see I sure hope it's only a trial a passing phase or a rebuke for me I guess it's just within us When we feel all washed out People complain about everything we do Our face wears a frown our mouth a pout That's when we need to communicate to you Lord You have helped me thru down days before Lifted me over them so I could see the light I'll wait patiently and pray Until you open the door that will stop my days from looking like the night This is when we need to lift our prayers to thee talk to you about the things in our life today We need to find new strength and the way again to see We know you're there and by our side you'll stay Norma Duncan 1979 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
