COMERS AND GOERS

On this busy street
On this busy lane
Comers and goers
Walking up and down
Going forth,
Disturbing my peace
Shuffling feet
Just to give me no rest
They take turns
Their demonized vehicles
Cry loud releasing horror
Atleast, they betted last night
That so it will be today
They take turns
My neighbors will come
One after the other
Plait hairs in my presence
Talking while I'd sleep
Transmitting demons
When they are thru
The younger men, daft, agile, and strong
Will come by my window
And talk all day
So I dont rest
Yes, added to last night's unrest?
These are not illeterates
Don't you hear them sing
The best of God's songs
And shout sweet "good mornings"
Yes, as I have seen
Even a weaponless black man
Can face a gun
Can face ten bombs
Can fight a war
