Marriage Room

Xi Xia
Translated from Chinese by Ou Shilin

Come to my bedroom, you who searches for time.
Time in a painting, smoke from chimneys,
bell tones and sound of a bowl
breaking in a kitchen,
all meet here.

Look at the wall around us.
We shall sit in this city for a long time.
A 10M2 space is not be decorated into a stage
for wasting our lives.

We look for the dusk when it rains,
like newborns in a womb, waiting for rains in a house.
There are always people who have lost their dreams
whispering under the light.
People who never appear in my dreams
will come on schedule.
