THE TALL WHITE BLEST GIRDLE

Once, while in room but sitting
A preacher was speaking
Preaching vehemently
Speaking describing God's Glory

I sat on a sofa
Concentrating, listening
Giving all attention
Following his descriptions

Then I started praying
Asking God for glory
Praying whole heartedly
“May I see your glory?”
And while I was yet praying
The spirit world was opened
I saw a large window
And a BEING terrible.

His height was but infinite
His size was more than creation
I saw only His waist down
To the edge of His garment.

While I saw the large window
Full of stars that where sparkling
My breath in me was ceasing
I collapsed on the sofa.

With the last breath I mustered
I shouted while I passed on
Asking the LORD for mercy:
“Shut my eyes lest I pass on.”

His priced garment like lightening
Had on His waist a girdle
An appearance that sparkled
Like a soldier for battle.

His size was something nothing

In creation in creation is nigh to
Of height or all dimensions
Which nearly took my life off

His glory everlasting
His waist bound girdle firmest
More than the universe He
And His white endless garment

My breath came in but once more
I know He heard my prayer
I rose from there but shaking
Stopped listening for HE warned me.

And no; I'll never all through
Except in heaven only
In company of blest saints
See so much of that glory
