DOWN TOWN MALAWI

Downtown Malawi!
I see the trader's crazy move;
Downtown Malawi!
Much of this but a pride to me,
Downtown Malawi!
Also, the soldier sets his gun,
Downtown Malawi!

Downtown Malawi!
The drumbeats fall on my eardrum;
Downtown Malawi!
Seeking out some hungry spot;
Downtown Malawi!
Some naked child but roaming out,
Downtown Malawi!
Seeks some respite; his case to solve.

Downtown Malawi!
Marvels that make me laugh a bit,
Downtown Malawi!
Have solved the song that breaks the nuts;
Downtown Malawi!
Of swiftest speakers, speaking wrath;
Downtown Malawi!
I speak of you, my grand neighbor,
Downtown Malawi!

Downtown Malawi!
The boy but pipes his saxophone,
Downtown Malawi!
The local boy his local flute;
Downtown Malawi!
The nomad seeks a field of grass;
Downtown Malawi!
We must but live, no matter how.
Downtown Malawi!

Downtown Malawi!
May sound my words but harsh a bit;
Downtown Malawi!
Consider how the newborn cries;
Downtown Malawi!
Consider how the sick but die!
Downtown Malawi!
And bring the message to the chest,
Downtown Malawi!
Of those who say they rule our lands,
Downtown Malawi!

Downtown Malawi!
Sparkles the sun to this one truth;
Downtown Malawi!
Don't let the child but saddened mourn;
Downtown Malawi!
His tears will stop the burning flame.
Downtown Malawi!
If you but let God hear it shout,
Downtown Malawi!

Downtown Malawi!
Let peace but grow up like a shrub;
Downtown Malawi!
Let it yield fruits of quietness;
Downtown Malawi!
Let gunmen no more spark at mobs,
Downtown Malawi!
Let the sun stand still at my words,
Downtown Malawi!
