SchoolHOOD
B---E---S---T
FRIEND
We talked This Morning
For
Over an Hour
On the --PHONE--
Him and ME
THAN
He remembered the GRIZZLEY
The Nick-NAME
In
High School
Sports
That he Gave
To
ME
When at Winter Sports
Awards Banquet
He was the Champion --and--Freestyle--ANCHOR--and part of the --State-Champion
Medley-relay team
And the Most Valuable
Trophy he did
GET
When I recieved an AWARD
For the MOST-DEDICATED--ATHLETE
My best friend since grade school
Stood up when the Swimming-Team was all on
Stage--and--was clapping and Applauding
Than everyone in Audience-- STOOD-UP
Applauding the exact--SAME
And I felt like the GREATEST
C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N
Minnesota--Swimmer--and--Winner
ELITE
What a BLESSING
In my
Life
Living
And
LOVE
To have such
Of a
TRUE-TRUE-TRUE
Dear and caring schoolHOOD
Friend since--Kindergarden
And
Still
FEEL--so--CLOSE
And so many decades PAST
How this --DEEP--Bond--of--TRUE-Friendship
And RESPECT
Can never--FADE
And here I am
At
A
New
SIXTY---TWO
