Through Closed Eyes
You said you'd never break my heart
you'd never make me cry,
but those words were torn apart
all you ever did was lie.
All the things you once said
all the promises you made,
you never kept them
so they just faded away.
Why did you lie to me
saying you'd be there,
that we were meant to be?
You made me think you cared
but instead you hurt me
you left me feeling empty and bare.
Broken inside it made me believe
what you did just isn't fair.
You said I had your heart
that you'd leave it in my hands.
You knew how far I'd go
just to have you be my man.
But everything you said
meant nothing, it was all lies,
you literally left me for dead
but I couldn't see that through closed eyes.
