On a cool Autumn eve, a star takes leave
Into the hands of a child a brief moment of make-believe
She holds it in the warm moonlight, sweet smile of relief
A dusty star that traveled far, rains golden stardust, brief

She holds the star with gentle care and wipes away its despair
She bids farewell and placed in the heavens with loving care
This star begins to drift on high among the gems where angles fly
Looking upon the young child's face thanking her for her tender grace

Back to it's the natural place the star lights outer space
The golden rays touch down, to find the child but there is no trace
Short life for the human race, Generations excel life moved on
The star knows the smile of that child will never be gone
