Lost Star

there was a star that stood alone in a distant galaxy

this star would grow to be a sun, warming planets in it's a path

forming a smooth surface for each world the sun-star beamed near and far

a cosmic wonder grew from the glow and earth began to show

somehow blue planet was fair when life appeared everywhere

the sun held the morning glory and told mankind her warming story

she softly lit the sky and witnessed eons gently sigh, no greater peace

shown from her eyes

so when we look to the heavens far

thank the cosmos for that lost star

it was a light that became our sun and brought us life and made us one

look to the light of day and know, that lost star found her way
