Nights are restless, cold creeps in
Winter approaches days grow dim
I watch the small creatures prepare their den
Autumn's colors fade in the field once again

Cruel is the night when memories become the light
Year of laughter, days of joy, slips through my hands
Now winter calls out my name and I do not understand
Perhaps the earth must rest to heal the land.

Deep in the frozen ground, the seed sleeps
to chilling sound the golden moments must rebound
Melancholy hours pass upon the fields of glass
Ice giants appear this icy time of year, and frozen ground
