EVERYBODY’S CHORUS
Glad are the flowers upon the trees,
And all the birds beyond degree
That give a gladsome melody;
Now raise the tune of grandest glee.
Red roses, rise to chant my hymn,
And every being that bears within
A breath, a life, and strength, and bring
A tune upon my lovely strings.
Should winds sweep now across my being,
I won't resist such broadened wings.
Come, finest tunes and grand octaves;
Let my ears tingle at the wave.
I stand on beauty's height – love's hill,
That rises through the skies at will,
To joyfully my message bring:
“Today is born the greatest King.”
Come, blessedness of all degree;
Descend upon me in a spree;
Let me ascend into your midst,
And in your great whirlpool be lost.
