Poetic-Verses

FIRST LOVE

First love, I'd say you'd not depart
Whether they'd take you off from me
To you only I will but cling

First love! Confuse not now my being
I seek for one lofty and high
And you cannot but my soul bribe.

First love – thou always has a pitch
A tune, a taste – and one complete
And incomparable to the cheap.

First love – I hate the substitute!
They taste bitter to my lips
They taste like spoilt milk to my tongue

First love – compared to nothing else
I make my bargain here and now
My request to heaven I cast

First love – nothing like you elsewhere
Your choice but carved into my soul
And spelt by destiny so clear

First love – I've grabbed you now at last
To be by me – to teach me peace
God is but good – He answered me.
