"so that the genuineness of your faith,
more precious than gold
that is perishable even though tested by fire..."
1 Peter 1:7
Arches and domes etched
in magnitude. Will the mouths speak
what the hearts are full of? or like
the minds—confide in silence?
Pearls and chandeliers connive
to bare those souls in agony. And while
those hands that lift before sunrise and
at sundown, incessantly—beseech the heavens,
yearning for eternal bliss. Hail, those old candles
with disheartening flames enduring cries
and sighs—in between.
As the cup of chastisement awaits the cruel and
the ungodly, gusty winds became succor
of what is unclear...whereby smiles are
but dainty camouflage in the light
of the dust.
