Victory Lap

Through high hills and low valleys
Highways and back alleys
From tight turns and declines
Zero to 60 on inclines
Through sand dunes to mud-runs
in pouring rain or burning sun
The human race is a long haul
We stumble, we slip, we trip and fall
Our fuel gets low, our feet get worn
Pit stop for a second, then get back going
The thought of finishing the course
Propels us forward with such force
Just have to make it, finish the race
Just have to see Jesus, behold his face
What makes the race easier to run?
Is when we realize the we have already won
Life on earth is just the victory lap
The race is over, this thing is a rap
Laying aside the weights the hold us down
Forgetting the past and reaching for the crown
By faith and obedience, the road has been cleared
Hear the cloud of witnesses as they cheer
To finish the course simply run the last lap
As you worship, praise, dance, and clap
The blood of Christ as accomplished this
He stands to greet us as we finish
