Heart Of The Matter

Moonlit Beach

A moonlit beach,
The gulls beseech,
A haunting call,
It's nightfall,
The ocean roars,
An eagle soars,
To catch the wind,
I'm left behind,
He walks away,
And then he turns,
I make to run,
Into his arms,
And now I'm safe,
He cups his hand,
Around my face,
He says, ‘I'm sorry',
There's no need,
A tender kiss,
A silly quarrel,
Quite forgotten,
Come tomorrow,
Cool wind blows,
Now I shiver,
Didn't know,
I made you quiver,
Now I'm laughing,
He is too,
Do you love me,
Yes, I do !
