Heart Of The Matter

My Silent Friend

My silent friend,
Is by my side,
He’s ever present,
He’s my guide.

A shining light,
He leads me on,
Through stormy life,
From world beyond.

I call on him,
When I’m in need,
And when he answers,
I take heed.

He gives me proof,
From day to day,
He plants a seed,
To lead the way.

And when to illness,
I succumb,
I ask my friend,
Just what is wrong.

He answers me,
In silent voice,
And I believe,
I have no choice.

He’s right again,
He’s proved them wrong,
So resolute,
His voice is strong.

He’ll be with me,
Until the end,
My ever present,
Silent friend.
