It Hurts
It hurts to know
that I can't have you.
It's hard to let go
I don't know how to.
My heart is yours
I'm too attached now.
In my face don't close that door
your indifference brings me down.
When you told me
let's just be friends
I know you couldn't see
how my heart was breaking within.
It hurts to know
you'll never be mine,
but I always had hope
though it was all in my mind.
You could never love me
I must not be your type.
I don't think you believe
you are someone special in my life.
But I'd rather have you as a friend
then not have you at all.
I hope our friendship never ends
believe me that's all I want.
Just promise me you won't take away your laughter
when we get the chance to talk.
Believe me that's all I ask for
Just the chance to keep knowing you more.
In your eyes I seem to drown
But no need to close that door
I know I have to somehow
let all my feelings for you go.
