You missed seeing the rainbow,
While you were hiding from the storm,
You missed the beautiful roses,
Afraid of touching the thorns.
You missed bright sunny days,
Hidden away, from the suns
Threatening rays.
You missed the babys' first steps,
To afraid to see it fall.
No amusement parks for us
There's danger on every ride,
You can't go out today,
The ozone levels too high.
No horse play for the children
To much risk of injury,
They're never allowed any candy
You know, it's bad for their teeth.
No evening strolls along the beach,
The air out there makes you sneeze,
No blankets or picnic baskets ever for us,
You can't tolerate those dreadful bugs.
No road trips in the car
You might get vertigo,
And that dreadful humidity,
Gives your hair, a mind all it's own.
No little boy of yours,
Will be allowed to pick up a bug or worm,
Oh! goodness no!
You know, they carry dreadful germs.
I really don't have to wonder anymore,
Why our lives don't hold any pleasure,
It's because we've never really lived,
We merely, just exist.
