ONE DAY AT A TIME

Everyone was mandated to take their cover,
For a nightmare of terror was approaching,
So gather your children and all stay connected,
Follow instructions, and aid others as you proceed.

All souls seemed lost, with no comprehension,
So I knew they were in need, for this I have done before.
Children playing alone, no awareness of the quest,
I shouted to all, gather your kin and do not let go.

You are all at risk by a terror that's on its way,
So hear me please, the doom will be harmful.
Civilians I recognized believed I'm on a mission,
Since I stood close to the chief in charge of defense.

I battled with all, making sure they grasped their course,
Gather food for a destination across the vast ocean,
Step by step, all was organized with wary comprehension,
For shelter awaits, once reaching their destination.

Countless terrorists arrived, all dressed in jet-black,
Aiming their weapons, with no intention to target us first,
As one approached our chief in command, shook his hand,
As I stared passively, a young one remarked, "you are lucky."

We were chosen to live, at first I could not reason why,
Reality sunk in, for I am on a mission a second time around.
Lost sight of many, observed clothing floating in waters,
As if empowered with a form of black magic, I proceeded.

Endlessly attending others to reach their set destination,
No longer did I feel weak, sensed mightier than before,
Climbed and ran rapidly, a magnificent power invaded me.
Now desperate with despair, alone I fled into the darkness.

Reached an unknown village with smiling, welcoming faces,
Gazing around enthusiastically, not one known soul did I see.
Was this my new haven, like one out of a fairy tale book?
Could the others be found in a discrete place of their own?

Awakening to this sequel of A Dream Of Terror,
I perceived some day I must travel back again,
With belief of fulfilling yet another mission,
To locate the others in their own habitat of peace.
