Rhymes of the Heart

The Carrousel

A carrousel from yesterday,
the memories so profound.
With brightly painted horses,
going round and round.

She was so in love,
wanted all it could bring.
Reaching out for life,
grabbing that brass ring.

The carrousel begin to slow,
its music now is gone.
The paint begins to peel,
can its magic linger on?

That brass ring now tarnished,
the ride it couldn't last.
just a heartfelt longing,
in the shadows that it cast.

Now more like a nightmare,
she's standing all alone.
In a dark empty spot,
for the carrousel is gone.
