Heart Of The Matter

My Bedroom

My bedroom I have painted pastel cream,
To lighten up the long dark winter night,
Decided on some poppies for a theme,
The colour red appealed, it seemed so right,

I found some pictures, poppies in a frame,
I took them home and hung them on the wall,
My bedroom, it just doesn't look the same,
The clutter cleared, it doesn't look as small,

My bedroom now is cheerful, calm, serene,
The poppies adding just a little flair,
Reminding me of love filled summer scene,
With just a little red placed here and there,

My bedroom decorated red and cream,
A place where I may think of you and dream.
