Poetry From The Heart by Barbara Ann Smith
A Pair of Angel Wings
A CHILDREN'S POEM
A PAIR OF ANGEL WINGS
Two big drops of water
sat on her chubby cheeks.
Her face was red--
tiny hands rubber her eyes.
Bewildered and afraid--
she sat alone beside a tombstone.
I watched as she put her hands together,
shut her eyes and muttered something.
I walked over to her--
patted her shoulder,
bent down beside her,
asked if I could help.
Her small eyes blinked and she asked--
are you an angel?
Jesus sent you to heal my heart - didn't He?
I've lost my best friend--
Grandma won't be around anymore--
He sent her a pair of angel wings
to fly into Heaven.
I knew He would hear my prayer.
