OUT IN THE PASTURE

They say the bull will mount the nearest cow
And that is true for humans too
That is why there are so many office affairs
That is why I fell for you

Familiarity breeds something
And mostly it's not contempt
Mostly it's a wondering
Of what would happen if you were to attempt

Attempt to go beyond a working relationship
Attempt to be more than neighbors
Attempt to flirt with that male nurse
Instead of some of the plastic relationships in labor

But we're not cows
We're are men and women
Who make promises and vows
That keep us sour like lemons

Sour on unfaithfulness
Sour on promiscuity
Sour on another's lust
Sour on sexual reality.
