 The Great Mother
She sits ageless among the stars...
cloaked in black velvet,
wearing a shimmering gown
of pure white beneath.
Her hair is long and flowing,
iridescent and beautiful.
Her dark and knowing eyes which see all;
are filled with love,
and maternal care.
Her hands are strong and competent;
Yet at the same time
they are gentle and soft.
Her wisdom is infinite,
Her patience incomprehensible.
She is slow to anger,
But when she is thus aroused...
Her wrath is awesome to behold.
She looks upon her children with
unconditional love...
and teaches them to live abundantly,
and in harmony with all other creatures,
Her lessons are balanced and just,
She is always fair.
