Fulfilling your duties to obtain knowledge before the first step up,
You graduate, securing the highest honor in the step to integrity,
Then you realize, you must do more in order to go up the ladder,
So you step out and mingle with friends and colleagues,
And step up by meeting someone to be your life-time partner,
The wedding song is played as you enter the step unitedly,
During matrimony, the step is glorified in the beginning,
A baby cries out, and then another, as you step into parenthood,
As they grow, you step up higher for their own expectation,
You're now middle-aged, reaching the highest step to loyalty,
At the top of the ladder, you spread your hands with agility,
Determined to take your strides with much more ease,
You strive to take the first step, this time down the ladder,
It's time to take it slow, a direction taken with good intention.
You become calmer, more collected in the step that follows,
Hence, stretch your last step and make your pride last longer.
